- Difficulty breathing
- Major trauma: hit-by-car, large wounds, broken bones
- Penetrating wounds anywhere

- Staggering, stumbling or falling
- Limping, or not bearing any weight on a limb

- Sings of pain such as shaking, whining, hiding or lethargy
- Ingestion of foreign material or toxins
